These establish aspirational and attainable attributes that all employees should pursue in their professional growth while at Fellowship.Summary Description: The Chief Advancement Officer is a creative, systems-oriented, and entrepreneurial fundraising professional who provides daily management of all Fellowship Christian School fundraising and related Development programs, including annual giving, alumni relations, donor relations, planned gifts, prospect research, and support services. S/he also oversees the strategy and implementation of Admission, Marketing, and Communication in support of the larger Advancement goals in support of Fellowship's Mission and Vision. S/he reports to the Head of School and in consultation will develop and implement a structured and formalized approach to Advancement leadership, relationship management, and a robust major gifts program. S/he also provides vital support to the Head of School serving on the Head's executive leadership team. The Chief Advancement Officer is a proven effective leader and manager, a successful relationship-builder, and an enthusiastic ambassador in the community.Essential Functions

  • Provide vision and leadership, determine goals and objectives, develop strategies and programs, and implement a comprehensive advancement program, working closely with the Head of School, Chief Officer for Finance and Operations, Advancement Office colleagues, faculty, alumni leadership, and others.
  • Lead efforts for Board engagement in philanthropic activities and build philanthropic capacity among the Board of Directors.
  • Serve as one of the school's primary external representatives alongside the Head of School, raising awareness of Fellowship Christian School in Roswell and the surrounding North Fulton Area.
  • Maintain an active portfolio of major and planned gift prospects to cultivate and solicit.
  • Strategically leverage the Head of School's time and attention on development matters.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Board's Development Committee on all fundraising-related matters.
  • Provide regular, detailed reports and information to the Head of School and Board to help in decision-making and program evaluation.
  • Lead, direct, and manage the Advancement office and personnel, including the hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of the staff to help them successfully meet their responsibilities. Assess, evaluate, design, and implement a plan for the ideal fundraising goals.
  • Set and oversee the annual Advancement Office budget.
  • Direct overall office planning and interacts with the Fellowship community with a broad understanding of the goals and objectives of the school and the Advancement Office.
  • Lead the school through capital campaigns.
  • Engage, partner, and train staff on fundraising campaigns, as necessary.
  • Manage, write, edit, and implement donor communications through email, print, mail, and social media, in collaboration with the Director of Marketing, to ensure consistent branding, messaging, and scheduling.
  • Provide consistent fundraising analysis, data, and forecast reporting to assess strategy success, support developing annual organization budgets, and track development campaigns. This includes monitoring donor information through the database.
  • Remain fully engaged in industry best practices, trends, and analysis. This may necessitate attending conferences, engaging with industry professionals, and maintaining connections to industry literature.Work Experience / Requirements
    • College Degree required, minimum bachelor's degree.
    • Master's Degree preferred.
    • Fundraising Certification preferred.
    • 5-7 years of significant fundraising experience running both annual and capital campaigns, specifically within a non-profit.
    • 3-5 years of people/department management.
    • Results-oriented with an ability to consistently meet or exceed fundraising goals.
    • Strong interpersonal, organization and managerial skills. Demonstrated excellence in donor relations, staff communications, and ability to tell a story with passion and urgency.
    • Ability to construct, present on, and implement annual/multi-year development strategies.
    • Proven ability to handle significant responsibility; work independently and as a team player, including managing multiple tasks and projects at a time.
    • Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication, and presentation skills.
    • Work strategically with the administration and teams of staff and volunteers.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft software applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) and knowledge of fundraising software/databases: Raiser's Edge and Research Point.Additional Requirements / Responsibilities
      • Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
      • Sign the Fellowship Christian School Statement of Faith.
      • Acknowledge and understand Fellowship Christian School's Mission and Vision Statements.
      • Be a Christ follower whose relationship is defined by having received Christ as Savior and a pursuit of spiritual growth.
      • Wear proper attire, consistent with the school's dress code at all times and maintain a positive attitude and appearance in accordance with school standards.
      • Report inappropriate behavior to School Administration to maintain a safe learning environment.
      • Make a constructive effort to protect all students from conduct detriment to learning, health, or safety.
      • Abide by and comply with all school policies and regulations.
      • Must have the ability to work in a school environment by successfully passing the school-mandated background check process and Ministry Safe training.
      • Other duties as requested or assigned by the Head of School.Physical Qualifications
        • Standing/sitting for periods of time.
        • Bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs.), pushing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, stooping.
        • Must hear with accuracy to exchange information in person or on the telephone.
        • Use of hands and fingers for manipulation and using computer keyboard.
        • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
        • Must use hands and arms to reach for, grasp, and manipulate objects.Working Environment
          • The work usually takes place in a clean, pleasant, and comfortable office setting.
          • The employee is faced with constant interruptions.
